Pupu

Hi everybody (Hi Dr. Nick)! Did you know that the Hawaiian word pupu (pronounced poo-poo) means appetizer? So if you are not very hungry you can work up your appetite with some pupu. On Friday Amy and I arose very early and drove to Haunama Bay. We got there at 6 a.m. and there was hardly any one there. Because we were there so early we did not have to pay the 5 dollar fee per person ( we were very excited)!! Walking down to the Bay we saw many Mongooses (or Mongeese)? Did you know that they sent the mongoose to the islands to get rid of the rat? Unfortunately rats are nocturnal and mongoose hunt during the day and both are destroying the native bird eggs. We only snorkeled for a few hours because Amy was turning blue from lack of body fat. I was cozy and did not feel any cold with my seal like body fat. On the way out Amy was asked by an old Hawaiian if she was a professional surfer because she had Billabong written all over her suit. The guy laughed at her when she told him that this was all they sold in Utah in the winter. Amy went to the temple that night with Sunny and Dave and I stayed home to watch the kids. Yesterday was free military day at the zoo. The first 8,000 people got free meals (so everyone got free meals). It was very busy but very fun. Tyger's favorite animals were the tigers and the hippos. There were also lots of free activities set up for the kids, like tattoos, mask making etc... A very fun day. Amy and Sunny then spent the rest of the day shopping for a formal dress for sunny but found nothing, because here in Hawaii finding a dress with sleeves is impossible. Talk to you soon! Enjoy the pictures and we enjoy your comments!

I especially like the picture of the tiger and monkey. Funny Zach but your poo poo was never that appetizing. Thanks for posting the pictures and logging your experiences. It makes it fun for us.
