Wowza, what a month!

So much has happened! We successfully moved from Las Vegas and are staying with Zach's parents until we figure out what we are doing house-wise. After a wonderful full month off of work, I started at McKay Dee hospital 2 weeks ago. Let me tell you, I really feel I will be happy there. The attitude and atmosphere is a night and day difference from where I came. The only crappy thing is is that I have to commute and with gas prices, ugh.... Anyway, I work on the surgical unit, half of which is normal easy surgeries, the other half is a step down from ICU unit. I am soooo excited. Zach and I have been house hunting and have seen over 17 houses. We put offers in on 2 houses but didn't get either due to one offer not being accepted and losing out on a bidding war on the other. So we don't know where exactly we will be at this point! All I know is that I will be spending a lot of money on gas regardless of where we live. Boo. Sunny and the kids are also here for the summer so we have had a ball so far. Here is some pics!

Zekey and Tygee literally climbing the walls.

Spaghetti means no shirt 'round these parts

Zach is soooo happy to be back in the army band. woo hoo!

Tater loves to wear headbands indian style. She gave grandma Bobbie a great makeover.

Tater had fun helping us pack

Tyger got to drive with Zach in the moving truck. He was so cute. He was more excited than christmas morning.

My steester Jane graduated from High School! She is getting so old! Congrats my sis!

Shortly after moving to Kamas, Patrice had little Even so back to Vegas we went! Here is Tatum kissing the little guy. He is soooooo cute!

I almost started crying on the drive to Logan. It is so beautiful it takes your breath away (especially compared to Vegas). Of course these pictures through my dirty car window don't do it justice.

Oh, I totally remember climbing doorways as a kid. I doubt I could do it anymore though. lol. Great memory! You and your sister look a lot alike too - its a way cute picture!

My sister-in-law just got hired at McKay Dee too... she starts in a month or so, in Pediatrics. Small world.

Good luck with the house hunting! Its a pretty interesting time to buy/sell right now. But hey, if you decide you want to come back to the Greenfield Ward, our house is for sale (as are a couple on this road).

Best of luck, and welcome back to the blogging world!

Glad you guys made it there and are enjoying fun times with the family. I think we would be crying tears of joy to see green again, too. We are sooooo happy for you guys, and congrats on the job, Amy!

Tina-- What's your house MLS #? I'm pretty sure we have probably seen it especially if it's on utahrealestate.com. We have a few rules when it comes to buying a house: #1 has to have at least 0.2 acres #2 has to be pretty cheap. We are looking for houses <$150k. We just don't want to max out our loan at this point in our lives. We are also hoping to find a house in the south end of the Valley (Hyrum, Mt. Sterling, or Wellsville) and we also love older houses (pre-1960's) either fixer uppers or already fixed up. The last couple of rules aren't set in stone but that is definitely where we are leaning.

Amy-- We are 'For Sale by Owner' - so no MLS. We are on .19 acres and built in 1992. Our price is $189,900. And we're in the Greenfield Ward... so the North end of Logan. So, it kind of strikes out on most of your criteria, lol.
But, if you do want more info, we put up a page at http://4sale-logan.blogspot.com

Good luck with the hunt either way!

Feels nice to just give a big SIGH of relief huh. It sounds like you had a pretty rough year in NV, and already know how good things are here. I feels so happy for you. I totally know the feeling of wanting to cry as you drive into a beautiful place such as Logan. It makes you appreciate it all the more when where you were pales in comparison.
Congratulations on your job! Cheers to you and yours-

Keep on rockin in the free world!

We're happy you guys are back too! Cute pictures of the kids, and believe it or not I thought I personally invented doorway climbing many many years ago. I don't actually know how people live in Vegas in the summer time, so you got here at the perfect time.

House hunting certainly has its ups and downs, at least in Logan things are slightly more affordable. I am so jelous that you are back the cache valley.
I hope you like your new job, i'm not sure anything can be worse than you old one, (so it sounded). You are probably so much better for it anyways!
Good luck with everything.

Yay a new post!! Has anyone told you that you look a lot like Amanda Peet? I can really see it in the picture of you with Jane. How is house hunting going?

Hey Zach and Amy-

I live up in Smithfield now and I work for a residential eating disorders facility in Cache Valley. They are looking to hire some RNs right now. Just in case you get sick of the drive to Ogden. If you want more info, you could call my mom or dad in Kamas and get my e-mail address or phone number and I can tell you more. Sorry to hear you are looking at the south end of the valley as the north really is the best! Good luck house hunting- Hollie (Walker)Downs

Hollie, good to hear from you. Isn't the eating disorder facility in Wellsville? I actually looked into it and, while it pays better, I am trying to gain more experience in acute care nursing. Thanks for the tip though? And I have to disagree, south Cache is definitely cooler :)

Welcome back! I'm so excited for you guys. We're in Brigham City so when you guys get up here, we'll have to get together. I'd love to meet your kids. Also, I'm a huge fan of McKay-Dee, as I just delivered there. My husband's uncle, Dr. Lyle Archibald, used to work or still works there. I can't remember. Anyway, my point is congrats on your new job there!

Hey guys! Sunny tells me you bought, or are buying, a house in Wellsville? I LIVE IN WELLSVILLE! How great is that?! Too bad I didn't know you were looking, as I have a terrific house for sale in Wellsville right now that I built. It's at the foot of the canyon and you would have been in my ward! So, shame on you for not saying anything, and shame on me for not knowing better. Either way, I look forward to having you in town! Let us know if we can do anything to help!

Hey Amy it's Juli (Walker)Marshall. I am sorry it took me so long to email you. My brother gave me your email a while ago and we have been out of town the last month so I didn't have my computer. Then I couldn't find where I put your email. I remembered seeing your link on Tahnie's blog, so anyway sorry it took so long. You probably needed some help finding a house and it sounds like you found one. That is always a relief. Well we'll finally be around for a while so as soon as I find your email I will give you my phone number so you can call if you ever need anything. Talk to you later. Juli
