The Holidaze

Well, I looked forward for so long for my 8 days off in a row and it went sooooo fast! Here are a few highlights, starting with Thanksgiving since we haven't posted pics in awhile.

This was around Thanksgiving time, Zach's Goatee. I call it the "pubic hair goaty." Sorry if the description offends, but like the obscenely low pants that so many teenagers wear these days ("pubic hair pants") there is no other way to describe it! Just kidding Zachy, best goatee ever! I love it so much and I wish you would grow one every day. It is the best thing I have ever seen. I love it. Wow. It's so great. Hows your self esteem now? I'm such a great wife.

On Thanksgiving day we went to Zach's grandma's in St. George but we forgot our camera (a blast to see everyone by the way!). This was the following Saturday when Brett and Mer and their kids visited. It was so good to see them! Cutest kids ever by the way, besides ours of course.

Saturday night at Grandpa Mike's and Grandma Rose's in New Harmony. Mike had this neato blow up jumper for the kiddies. What fun! Thanks for inviting us, the kids had a blast and we were glad to see everyone!

Christmas morning. When I saw this pic, I thought, "Hey, I'm actually quite good looking! Actually, I'm really pretty! Down right hot!" It was only seconds later of course that I realized that this picture is of Tatum and JANE, not Tatum and me.

Now this is more like it, what I expect to see when viewing a picture of myself. Of course Holly is always beautiful even with her eyes half closed.

Christmas morning at the Putnams. Notice Tyger on the left with his awesome new full sized marshmallow shooter from Cabella's. Lethal.

The rare Bobbie pic with the even more rare Bobbie pic in curlers. This species of pic is extremely rare and difficult to capture on film. I'm thinking of putting it up for bid on Ebay...

A good hearty laugh from Bobbie and Dee. Love these moments!

FOTC un-plug

Okay, I have to unplug flight of the conchords. It turns out that the second DVD was pretty darn dirty. So maybe rent it but only watch the first DVD.

I have to put a plug in about our new favorite New Zealand folk parody band. They got a series last year on HBO and we rented it after watching a few of their videos on youtube. It is very "the Office" -esc. But much weirder. Very very funny. If you like The Office, you will probably like this. I think Holly and Jane will enjoy it the most. Originally here I listed who else would like it but that is everybody. Netflix it today! We will pester you about seeing it for a long time if you don't so just rent it and watch it, dang it!

Tagged

Well, Merideth was tagged and tagged anyone who needs something to blog about. That would be us!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper is so fun for the kids!
2. Real tree or artificial? We have an artificial. Real ones are so much work but smell so good!
3. When do you put up the tree? A week or so after Thanksgiving
4. When take down. Whenever we get around to it at the first of the new year.
5. Do you like eggnog? It has it's place, but not in large doses. I actually like it better if it's diluted with milk.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I remember the year we got bikes I was really excited.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes-ish. A couple of years ago I had a block style nativity half way made at a supersaturday. I have never finished it. And now it might have been taken (along with my tree:( from my grandpa's basement.
8. Hardest person to buy for? Patrice or Cassie (I have Cassie this year)
9. Easiest person to buy for? The kids. They are thrilled with the littlest things and are just happy to unwrap something.
10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? A horrible sweater from my boyfriend in highschool. I couldn't even hide that I hated it when I opened it... I almost started crying actually. I was such a brat.
11. Mail or Email Christmas card? I think mail is more meaningful, but I don't know if I will get around to it this year!
12. Fav Christmas movie? all time: It's a Wonderful Life. I also like Elf
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Probably about 2 weeks before christmas
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? All christmas goodies, however I do have fond memories of eating vitamin C's under the christmas tree with my sis
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Clear...and lots of them! Although colored are growing on me.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Have yourself a merry little christmas (judy garland), basically those on our blog and a few more.
18. Travel for Christmas or stay home? Home is Utah to us anyway.
19. Can you name Santa's reindeer? All of them? Sure, but do it need to do it here?
20. Do you have an Angel on top or star? The kids have there own little 1 foot trees that have a star on the top.
21. Open presents Christmas Eve, or Christmas morning? We generally just open them on Christmas day, but in the past few years, we've done a little gift such as pjs or something for the kids on Christmas Eve, as well.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Fighting to get work off.

no teachy in park city

Well, Zach applied in Park City for a guitar teaching position. We just found out yesterday that they won't be hiring for it until next school year. We are majorly bummed. I was practically packing my bags. But now that I know we won't be moving next month, I am trying to adjust my attitude toward this place. Like a lady in my ward said, "So, your moving back to Utah to make even less money as a teacher and nurse?" It is true, we will be taking a pay cut when we move back, but some things are more important than money to us. And the paycuts we will be taking aren't nearly as bad as they might be in other professions. Basically I will be making $4 less an hour and Zach will make about the same if he is hired in Park City. Ah well, I guess y'all we be making a few more trips to Vegas to visit us!
